PassTime USA and TRG-AMR Win in Kansas, Close the Championship Gap Even Further in CTSCC

KANSAS CITY, Kansas. (June 8th, 2014) … After a hard-fought pole position on Friday night, the TRG-Aston Martin Racing 07 duo of Kris Wilson and James Davison brought home a well-deserved victory under the lights of Kansas Speedway Saturday night. This marks the maiden victory for TRG-AMR in GS competition since taking the reins of Aston Martin Racing North America following the 2012 season. This is also the first victory for the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in Continental Tire competition in the three seasons the platform has been campaigned.

While Kris spent his 70-minute stint driving in his mirrors and preserving the car for James, the battle was much more intense for Australian and recent Indy 500 competitor Davison. During the final 30 minutes of the race Davison battled Matt Plumb and exchanged the lead multiple times before grabbing the lead for the final time with only 13 minutes remaining in the 2 hour and 30 minute enduro. This win also brings Wilson and the team within five points of the championship lead.

This win comes during a time when TRG-AMR is at it’s busiest, simultaneously running the second round of the GT4 Challenge Series at VIR and following the recent TUDOR race at the Belle Isle street-circuit along with intense preparations for the upcoming Watkins Glen round of the North American Endurance Championship.

Kris Wilson, TRG-AMR North America Team Driver on last night’s pole position:

“I made a couple mistakes and the guys actually called me in, but I asked to do one more lap because I felt I could clean up a few things, and it worked! said Wilson. “I couldn’t have asked for a better car – thanks to the TRG-AMR guys for giving me such a solid platform to help me take the pole. Really looking forward to a good race.”

James Davison, TRG-AMR North America Team Driver:

“Kris did an amazing job – I’m really happy to be driving alongside him this weekend – he’s a real veteran around the paddock and seems to know everyone here! The guys have given us a great car, Kris has given us the best starting position possible, now it’s up to the two of us to bring home the checkered flag. I’m really looking forward to a great race tonight.”
